Which format should I choose?
MP3 plays everywhere. M4A is usually smaller than MP3 at similar quality and suits Apple devices. WAV and FLAC are lossless, for editing or archiving.
Will converting MP3 to WAV improve the quality?
No. The WAV holds exactly the sound the MP3 had, just without compression, so the file gets much larger. Detail the MP3 already dropped cannot be brought back, and the result page says so.
What bitrate is used for MP3, M4A and OGG?
Lossy formats are written at 192 kbps. WAV and FLAC have no bitrate setting because they are lossless.
Can I convert audio from a video file here?
This tool takes audio files. To pull the sound out of a video, such as a recorded class or a music clip, use Extract audio instead and save it straight as MP3.
