How to unlock PDF

Bank statements, e-Aadhaar downloads and payslips often arrive password protected, which gets tiring when you open them every day or need to merge them with other files. Type the password once and download a copy that opens without one. This tool does not guess or break passwords: it only removes a password that you already know.

Questions people ask

Can you unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?

No. There is no cracking or guessing of any kind. The tool makes one attempt with the password you type, and if it is wrong it simply tells you. Capital letters and spaces count, so type it exactly as it was given to you.

My PDF opens fine but won't let me print or copy. Can I unlock it?

Yes, if you have the owner password, which is different from the password for opening the file. Restrictions are lifted only with the owner's password.

Is my password sent anywhere?

No. The PDF and the password both stay in your browser, and the password is never stored.

Why unlock a PDF at all?

Other tools such as Merge, Compress and Sign cannot open a locked file, and some upload portals reject password-protected PDFs.

Is the unlocked copy complete?

Yes. The tool checks the saved file against the original before handing it over, so you never download a copy with blank pages. Your locked original stays exactly as it was.
