How to resize image

Online forms often ask for an image of a set size in pixels, and social posts look best at particular dimensions. Type the width and height you need, keep the aspect ratio locked so nothing looks stretched, or start from a ready-made size such as a 1080 x 1080 square or 1920 x 1080 HD.

  1. Add one JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP image.
  2. Pick a ready-made size or choose Custom size and enter the width and height in pixels.
  3. Click Resize image and download the resized copy.

Questions people ask

Will my image get stretched?

Not if Keep aspect ratio is on. The tool then changes the other side for you so the picture keeps its shape. Turn it off only when you need two exact numbers.

Can I make a small image bigger?

Yes, but the screen warns you first. Enlarging cannot add detail that was never captured, so the result will look softer.

What sizes can I enter?

Width and height can each be set from 16 to 10,000 pixels. The file keeps its format, so a JPG comes back as a JPG and a PNG as a PNG.

Does resizing also make the file smaller in KB?

Usually, because fewer pixels means less data. To hit a strict KB limit on a form, resize first and then run the result through the compress image tool.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. Resizing happens inside your browser and the image never leaves your device, which matters when the picture is an ID card, a certificate or a signature.
